The term "mahal" can be used as terms of endearment of two couples. Mahal is a tagalog word which means love . Instead of calling your loveones, honey or sweetheart , one Filipino way is calling your loveones, "mahal". For those non-Pinoy who love Filipinas, the term "mahal" is very useful.

Another meaning of the term "mahal" is expensive.

Highshool boys use to say this Tagalog expression "crush kita" to their favorite girl or classmate. This tagalog expression may not be heared anymore to older generations. Because it is a cute expression for younger Philippine teenagers. "Crush kita" is tagalog word which means " I have a great attraction on you physically". This would mean literally mean "type kita " which denotes deep attraction to the opposite sex.

We Pinoys are fond of saying " I love you mahal na mahal kita" or simply "1435254". Do you know how it is coined as 1435254? Basically, it originated from the number of letters each word stands for.

She may not be frail but the thing she is a girl she needs somebody who can assist her. I usually go to Glorietta in Makati and is a common sight that there are many foreigners mostly white ones are shopping together with their Filipino wives. Some are couples and some are families with good-looking childen mixes with different race. The Filipino woman may just be only a typical Filipina, brown-skinned, short , flat nosed, long haired and speaking in english toungues with a visayan accent. Pure Filipinas like the ones I described are basically the type of white guys which is common sight when you happen to see walk on foreigners-clad areas in Manila.
Basically, if a guy saw a Filipina girl for the first time and he felt something that he is attracted to her. Maybe he is attracted to her eyes or other physical assets and that might be the start of friendship and deeper. When a guy gets to know her and saw her inner beauty then he realized that he has a big attraction to the Filipina girl. He can say in tagalog , "type kita" which means I like you , I have a great attraction on you... inside and outside beauty.
Maybe if you whisper tagalog "type kita" to her , chances are you are positively welcomed for a more deeper relationship.
